Nature

Flesherton is located near many natural attractions including: Bruce Trail, Kolepore Uplands, Flesherton Hills, Lake Eugenia, the Saugeen Valley Conservation Area, and the Saugeen, Boyne and Beaver Rivers. Eugenia Falls and Hoggs Falls are nearby and are part of the Grey County Waterfall Tour. Flesherton has been known for years as ‘The Gateway to the Beaver Valley’, an area known for its excellent downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, fishing and canoeing.

Culture

Flesherton has several fine art and craft galleries and studios, antique stores, unique eateries bed & breakfast accommodation and interesting historic architecture. It boasts excellent sports facilities including a newly renovated arena, baseball diamonds and tennis courts, a fitness center with pool and the ‘Kinplex’ Community Center. Flesherton is home to a newly renovated Public Library and the South Grey Museum..

Eugenia is home to a gallery, unique eateries, several retail outlets, accommodations, Eugenia Falls Conservation Area with hiking trails, access to the Bruce Trail and Lake Eugenia known for its excellent bass fishing. Eugenia has an interesting history involving several hydro generation projects.

Events

For over 30 years, The Split Rail Festival in September has celebrated arts, crafts local agricultural heritage of the community with a 3 day display of antique and classic cars, vintage farm machinery, a handmade quilt auction, music and entertainment. splitrail@bmts.com

Each July, the village of Eugenia celebrates its local history with the Gold Rush Days Festival, featuring panning for ‘gold’ for the kids, musical entertainment, sports events, and more. www.eugeniagoldrush.com

The Flesherton & District Farmers' Market is open each Saturday between Victoria Day and Thanksgiving at the Arena Grounds. 8 am to 1 pm.

The Flesherton Antique Show at the Kinplex, operated by the Flesherton Kinsmen, is held Thanksgiving Weekend (Oct).

A Tourist Booth in Flesherton is maintained and operated by the Flesherton & District Chamber of Commerce.
