More about the Cenotaph in the Eugenia Falls Conservation area

This post is in response to the comment on the June 2007 post about Eugenia cenotaph.

The plaque in the photo was installed in 2004 near the cenotaph and ginkgo tree. It reads:
This Ginkgo (spelled incorrectly on the plaque) is dedicated to the memory of Lt. John Oliver Allison, MC. Born 8 Oct, 1891 Maxwell, Ont. Died 15 May 1918.

Enlisted 162 Battalion Canadian Army May 1916. Overseas 31 Oct, 1916. Transfered to Royal Flying Corps. Killed in action flying reconnaissance over enemy lines in Mesopotamia. Awarded Military Cross in Turkish Campaign.
Buried in Basra, Iraq. Remembered with honour.

Shown in the photo is the metal that was awarded and a photo of John Oliver Allison.
