Duncan Crevice Caves

Merely a hop skip and a jump from Flesherton, the Duncan Crevice Caves are worth the trip (so to speak... but don't). It is a marvelous place to explore and feel as though one is in a totally different world and time.

It's a long hike in through bush and farmer's fields and bush again. It's spooky cause if you fall, well... who would know. There is a small wooden bridge over a small crevice and this is where we descended into the caves.

There are deep crevices with high rock walls on each side. You can also hike along the top and look down. A Bruce Trail side trail follows along the top of the cliffs. Located near Metcalf Rock which sounds like the place in Australia where people got lost and were never found again.

Thank you for the lovely photos. I am an author and musician(recently retired) curious about Flesherton because my husband and I hope to move to your area from our own lovely corner of Ontario to your north, Bass Lake near Wiarton. I look forward to new discoveries and will check your posts during this time of waiting.
